The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has assured the people of Warri Kingdom that challenges will not stop the kingdom from achieving greater heights.
The monarch gave the assurance on Sunday during a thanksgiving service at the Aghofen (palace), in, Warri, Delta State, to mark the end of activities for his fifth coronation anniversary.
He said the kingdom would continue to overcome its challenges, describing obstacles as stepping stones to greater accomplishments.
“We will never be swallowed by any obstacles that dares to put itself before us, God has given those as stepping stones for us to rise,” the Olu said.
He thanked God for His grace, protection and provision during his first five years on the throne, expressing confidence in greater achievements in the next five years.
The monarch also urged Itsekiri people to have the right vision to recognise opportunities in difficult situations.
In his sermon, Bishop Mike Laju described the thanksgiving as spiritually significant and urged the people to cultivate a culture of gratitude.
The service, attended by hundreds of Itsekiri sons and daughters, featured praise, worship and hymns, including several renditions in Itsekiri.
The Ijaw ethnic nationality emerged as the champions of the maiden Warri Unity Games, held as part of the Coronation Anniversary celebrations of His Imperial Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri.
During his 5th Coronation Anniversary, His Imperial Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, affirmed that strengthening excellence within Nigeria’s traditional institutions and cultural heritage has the power to position the nation as a model admired across the world.
