🌺 About WLVNA

Warri Ladies Vanguard North America (WLVNA) is the North American affiliate of Warri Ladies Vanguard (WLV), headquartered in Warri, Nigeria. Our global sisterhood spans across Warri, Benin, Lagos, Sapele, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Abuja, Asaba, North America, and the United Kingdom—united by a shared commitment to empowerment, heritage, and community upliftment.

💼 Empowering Women Through Skills

In just three years, WLVNA has made remarkable strides in supporting underserved women and preserving cultural identity.
Our Skills Development Acquisition Program equips young Itsekiri women with practical life skills such as:

  • Sewing & Fashion Design
  • Culinary Arts
  • Computer Literacy
  • Teacher Preparation

Each graduate receives startup tools and mentorship to launch their own business. We proudly support our third cohort and continue to follow up with alumni—encouraging them to grow and give back.

📚 Preserving Language & Culture

Earlier this year, we launched the Teach Itsekiri Program, a groundbreaking initiative to revitalize the Itsekiri language.
We are currently sponsoring 10 NCE students from the Itsekiri Language Department at the College of Education, Warri. These future educators are committed to teaching the language upon completing their three-year program. Expansion plans are already underway.

❤️ Promoting Health & Wellness

Through partnerships with Itsekiri medical professionals in the Warri region, we’ve launched our Health Initiative Program—focused on community wellness and access to care.
We are preparing to host a landmark Health Summit in early 2026, bringing together experts, advocates, and families to promote holistic health solutions.
