The story of Warri Ladies Vanguard North America would not exist without the strength, vision, and legacy of its parent organization in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. The North America chapter was born from the heartbeat of the original movement — a sisterhood committed to cultural preservation, women’s empowerment, and service to the Itsekiri Nation. Now, meet the remarkable women whose dedication made our existence possible. Our parents & sisters.
Warri Ladies Vanguard: A Legacy of Service & Empowerment
Founded in 1958 in Warri—then part of Nigeria’s historic Midwest State—Warri Ladies Vanguard stands as one of the most distinguished socio‑cultural organizations in the Itsekiri Nation. Built on a foundation of service, discipline, and community advancement, the organization has spent more than six decades uplifting women and strengthening cultural identity.
Seventeen visionary Itsekiri women established the organization with a clear purpose: to serve their people with integrity and to build a united force of women committed to progress. Their enduring motto, “Service to The Nation,” continues to guide every initiative, reflecting a legacy of leadership and unwavering dedication.
In September 2022, this legacy once again expanded beyond Nigeria with the establishment of the North America chapter—another branch in its growing network. Today, the organization proudly maintains a vibrant presence across Warri, Benin, Lagos, Sapele, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Abuja, Asaba, North America, and the United Kingdom.
Warri Ladies Vanguard remains a shining testament to unity, sisterhood, resilience, and the unstoppable spirit of Itsekiri women—past, present, and future. AGURA IWERE ERUN!
