ABOUT US

Warri Leaders Vanguard North America (WLVNA), is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underserved women, preserving Itsekiri culture, and building community across generations and borders. As the U.S. affiliate of Warri Ladies Vanguard (WLV), headquartered in Warri, Nigeria, WLVNA is part of the global network which pans Warri, Benin, Lagos, Sapele, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Abuja, Asaba, North America, and the United Kingdom, All of them are united by a shared commitment to empowerment, heritage, and community upliftment.

Empowering Women Through Skills

Our Skills Development Acquisition Program equips young Itsekiri women with practical life skills—sewing, culinary arts, computer literacy, teacher preparation, and more. Each graduate receives startup tools and mentorship to launch her own business. We’re currently working with our third cohort and continue to support alumni as they grow and give back.

Preserving Language & Culture

Through our Teach Itsekiri Program, we’re sponsoring 10 students from the Itsekiri Language Department at the College of Education, Warri. These future educators are committed to teaching the language after completing their three-year program. This initiative is growing and poised for expansion.
